DIVERSITY INTERVIEW PROGRAMS
Mitchell Hamline participates in Twin Cities Diversity in Practice and other diversity interview programs with employers and organizations both in Minnesota and outside of it.

Employers can submit job listings and other information to [email protected]. Our standard posting timeline is 30 days on Symplicity, but we will post for longer if the employer requests. We can encourage applications by a specific end date or on a rolling basis.

FIRST-YEAR STUDENT Describe any special regulations pertaining to the recruitment of first year students. For example, are first year students eligible for spring OCI? When are job notices posted during second semester?
First year students are eligible for all work opportunities. First year students are only eligible for externships (for academic credit) after the completion of their first year of law school. We encourage employers to keep contact with first-year students to a minimum in the first (fall) semester of law school to allow first-year students to settle in and be successful with their academics. We do not, however, prohibit contact with first-year students or any students before a certain date. We post job notices at any time during the traditional school year and into the summer.

We encourage employers to minimize contact with first-year students during the first (fall) semester of law school to allow students to focus on their studies, but we do not specifically prohibit contact at any time.
